KT Smail

Allow me to distract you with the gorgeous work of KT Smail.

The Irish illustrator is known for her whimsy drawings of heart broken girls, dressed in designer clothes. She has an amazing ability of balancing design and art.

If day dreaming is one of your favorite pastimes then be sure to check out her blog and website.

Life before Photoshop

A friend of mine (and a fellow Graphic Designer) just emailed me this photo by Art Snob Solutions. Brilliant, right?

Love love love how they have rebuilt the software with natural, real materials. Everything in this shoot has been handmade. Definitely NOT a photoshop job!

Hmmm...I guess if there were no computers, Photoshop might look a little something like this. Gosh I can't imagine life without the undo button!

Check out the making of the set on Flickr.

Friday Favourites

A few of my favourite things...

1. Embellished Sheers from Jill Stuart Fall '12 — Love the tiny studs, lace, and sparkling embellishments combined with the sheer fabric.

2. Quote from Braces and Laces

3. Such a cool idea from Dandee Designs - DIY stitched cards

4. Gorgeous interior that I found on Pinterest

A girl can dream

O.M.G. I think I just died and went to heaven! One of my favourite websites, The Coveteur recently visited Lauren Conrad's pink Chanel-filled closet. Think I would do just about anything to have a closet like this! I'm all for girly and romantic.

Geronimo Spring/Summer 2012

Spent the morning ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the Spring 2012 collection of Geronimo. Inspired by the Dust Bowl and John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. Super dreamy and I love the polaroids by Chloa Aftel.

You can view the full lookbook here and check out the Lana Del Rey inspired video here.

Collar tips to DIY for

My new obsession - tipped collars. This trend has been popular ever since Balenciaga re-worked this western style into their Spring 2011 collection but its taken a while for the high street to catch up. Embarrassed to admit that I only came across it this weekend when I watched Rihanna's "We found love" video (she wears it in the skate park scene).

I love the fact that they are detachable so you can wear it with more than 1 shirt. Not sure if they are available in S.A yet, so thinking of making my own with this simple DIY from Cats and Rocking Chairs.

Can't wait to add some bling to my collars – they’re definitely not just for cowboys anymore!
